promoting uniformity in commercial driving regulations, the <\/span><b>Supreme Court of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has clarified that drivers of <\/span><b>Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> do <\/span><b>not need a separate transport badge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to operate commercial vehicles under a certain weight limit.<\/span><\/span><\/p><h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What Changed?<\/span><\/h4><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As per the Supreme Court\u2019s judgment in <\/span><b>Mukund Dewangan vs Oriental Insurance Company (2017)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and in accordance with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) directive dated Drivers with LMV licenses can now legally drive smaller transport vehicles like taxis, autos, e-rickshaws, and goods\/passenger carriers within the weight limit <\/span><b>without any additional This step is expected to significantly streamline hiring, reduce deployment delays, and eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic barriers.<\/span><\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Final Word<\/b><\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">This regulatory clarity is a welcome change for both drivers and fleet operators across India.
